My embroidered advent calendar for 2024 – Day 1

A few years ago I discovered a blog where someone had sewn a beautiful Advent calendar.
I actually wanted to sew it last year, but my sewing machine broke down.
The only store in the area that repairs my brand had so many orders that the machine couldn’t be repaired until this year.

I knew more or less what I wanted my calendar to look like and then looked for embroidery files on the Internet.
And I found them. I wanted to have a different embroidery every day.
But I misjudged the time!!!
I had expected a relaxed 3, maximum 4 days, but it took me 25-30 hours to complete the whole calendar.
It had to be finished on Saturday because I was giving it away. It was therefore very stressful.
The calendar was finished on Saturday night at 1am πŸ˜€

Here is day 1

Avent calendar Cushion 01

I will post the link to the blog of the calendar on the last day.
So it will be a little surprise when you see the whole thing.
And also write a tutorial on how I sewed it.
Maybe someone will like it as much as I did and want to make this calendar too. ❀

Let it Snow sweatshirt in summer hahaha

I actually wanted to make this sweatshirt last year but unfortunately my sewing machine broke down and it took ages for the store where I took it to have the time to fix it. That’s just the way it is when there’s only one sewing shop in a wide area that repairs sewing machines.
Luckily, I finally got around to making the sweatshirt.
It’s already summer now, but the next winter is sure to come πŸ˜€

I used the same pattern for the sweatshirt as for the windbreaker. I just made the pattern smaller.

DIY Windbreaker with Dots Dots Dots

Actually, I only wanted to embroider something on the front of the pocket, as with the windbreaker. But I found so many great embroidery designs for winter on Etsy that I couldn’t make up my mind and just used them all. πŸ˜€

The fabric is white fleece. I deliberately decided to use the wrong side of the fabric on the outside because I have had bad experiences with embroidering on fleece before.
But if you don’t know it, you can’t see it!

Here is the pocket with a flap. Isn’t the design cute? ❀

Winter Sweat 01

Here is one sleeve. I embroidered snowflakes from top to bottom on the other sleeve.

Winter Sweat 02

I like this design best of all. It’s quite large on the back. When you see the finished part, it could have been even bigger!

Winter Sweat 06

For the hood, I would have turned the design 180Β°. I draped the hood in such a way that you can see the embroidery in the photo. When it’s positioned normally, you can only see the upper, upside-down embroidery! When I have the hood up, it fits, but when do you put the hood on a sweater?

At least I hardly ever do. Unfortunately, I saw it too late and didn’t have enough fabric left.

And here the swearshirt from the back

Now it just has to get cold enough for me to wear the sweatshirt πŸ˜€

DIY A very very colorful super fluffy jumpsuit for at home

I actually wanted to post my last project before Easter, but I forgot.
This weekend I finally got around to taking the photos.
I didn’t sew the jumpsuit at home, but in a sewing class, because anyone who has ever cut and sewn fleece knows that you will find fluff EVERYWHERE afterwards! πŸ˜€

A bit mean, but I helped the sewing teacher to get rid of all the fluff with the vacuum cleaner.

I’m one of those women who is always freezing. So if you’re sitting at the sewing machine or at the table for a long time, for example, you don’t want to do that with a warm blanket. It restricts your movement.
But fleece is the perfect solution. It’s super soft, comfortable to wear and keeps you nice and warm.

Simply perfect for at home. Of course I would never leave the house in it πŸ˜€ but I didn’t plan it for that.
At the moment I’m already working on the 2nd jumpsuit so that I can always change in winter ❀

And here is my super colorful soft jumpsuit. I made it in the largest size so that I have plenty of space to move in it.

Cute little girl’s dress including tutorial

Do you remember your first day at school?

The excitement to finally going to school like your one year older brother? To know you will learn how to read, write, count? To make new friends, say good bye to some of your Kindergarten friends?

It was such a big step for me but I dont remember much. But what I remember is the new dress I got for this special day.

Now little Miss M. will have her first day at school and I choosed the pattern from my Mickey Mouse dress to sew a new dress for her “big day”

So many blogs I read so far helped me with sewing tips and tutorials.

This is the reason to do my own tutorial for a girls dress and give back some of the help

Here is my tutorial:

Little dress with Mickey Mouse fabric

Did you read Mickey comics, watched Mickey on TV as a child? Went more than once to Disney Land?

Yes? Me too hehe

When I saw this fabric I had to have it.

I didnt knew at first what to do with this fabric. Then I found this pattern in a sewing magazine and used this cute fabric

unfortunality I couldnt found the same red fabric as in my Mickey fabric for the pockets. Instead I used blue fabric which came out quite well πŸ™‚

Sewing more skirts for a little girl

My longtime project is done (jacket) and I had time to make aΒ  skirt again.

This gnome skirt I made weeks ago.

I’ve seen this fabric and knew it would be a cute skirt for Miss M. πŸ˜€

The next skirt I finished today.

I love dots, I love stripes. ❀ ❀ ❀

Why dont use one of the fabricsΒ  for a little skirt? I embellished it with 2 pirate girls on the pockets and white lace.

Skirt with dots

Instead of one 1 I used 3 small elastics here. It looks way better then the skirt above πŸ™‚
