I love the sea (photos + film)

I love the sea.

No matter how the weather is, whether hot or cold, windy or rainy  I love to be at the sea.

Never before have I had the few days of vacation as needed as this summer.
In my last post I wrote that I had a construction site IN my apartment for 10 weeks.

Every year we went cycling by the sea, to a different place almost every day.

But not this time!

We took hours of walks by the sea, slept late, made no plans for the next day.
For a week we simply rested, enjoyed the sea, calmed our nerves.

Of course I took photos again. I think I have a million photos of the sea now, but still I take new photos every year hihi

I took this photo the first day. It was very cloudy and windy, perfect for kiting

Here my favourite motive at the sea, waves that break

We passed the bike to walk up the stairs to the beach.
No, that wasn’t our usual way to the beach. We went that way for the photos. As you can see on the photos, the weather was perfect

Here you can walk up the steps in the middle of the dunes.
The brown is not withered but a special form of the plant Ericaceae. This plant can be found all over the dunes because it can grow on sandy soil and thus prevents the sand from being blown away.

And now the best look of all when you’ve gone up all the steps. Down the stairs to the beach.
When I was standing on top, I made a little video with my mobile 🙂 The noise in the video is the wind and the sea

I hope you like the view too ❤ ❤ ❤

My new window

In some posts I have already written that my apartment is under the roof. Like a penthouse hihi

I’ve only had sloping windows so far.
At the end of June, my landlord told me I was getting a dormer.
Brilliant, great idea 🙂

Which I didn’t know, however, how long it would take. I expected a week or so, instead it was 10 weeks !!!!
First they cut a huge hole in my roof, over 3 x 2 yards.
Then nothing!

I asked my landlord when the new window would be installed. He said that the hole should first be measured and then the window ordered. And then I would have to wait 6 – 8 weeks until the new window comes.

It took exactly 8 weeks until the new window was delivered and the work could continue.

Over 8 weeks where temperatures were over 86 degrees every day,

Over 8 weeks where I could not air down in the apartment because the hole was completely covered,

Over 8 weeks where I could not use the room because I had made room for the craftsmen.

The worst thing I could not sew since the end of June. Unfortunately, this was the same time my sewing class was on a summer break. Last Saturday the course started again!!!! Finally.

Yesterday I started to put my furniture back in its place. It’ll take me a few more days to finish completely, but at least the new window is ready.

The result was worth all this, but how often I have cursed the last few weeks I can’t count.

Now I have scolded so much, now I want to show what it looks like before and after.

Unfortunately I had taken the before photo at night so that one cannot compare it correctly and I put a foil over my window seat.

New window before

Here is the new window. Doesn’t it look great? The room is now much brighter and my homemade window seat looks great under the window. Like it was meant to be

New window after

Tomorrow I’m going to the sea for a few days to relax. I hope I can bring some nice photos.
