Let it Snow sweatshirt in summer hahaha

I actually wanted to make this sweatshirt last year but unfortunately my sewing machine broke down and it took ages for the store where I took it to have the time to fix it. That’s just the way it is when there’s only one sewing shop in a wide area that repairs sewing machines.
Luckily, I finally got around to making the sweatshirt.
It’s already summer now, but the next winter is sure to come 😀

I used the same pattern for the sweatshirt as for the windbreaker. I just made the pattern smaller.

DIY Windbreaker with Dots Dots Dots

Actually, I only wanted to embroider something on the front of the pocket, as with the windbreaker. But I found so many great embroidery designs for winter on Etsy that I couldn’t make up my mind and just used them all. 😀

The fabric is white fleece. I deliberately decided to use the wrong side of the fabric on the outside because I have had bad experiences with embroidering on fleece before.
But if you don’t know it, you can’t see it!

Here is the pocket with a flap. Isn’t the design cute? ❤

Here is one sleeve. I embroidered snowflakes from top to bottom on the other sleeve.

I like this design best of all. It’s quite large on the back. When you see the finished part, it could have been even bigger!

For the hood, I would have turned the design 180°. I draped the hood in such a way that you can see the embroidery in the photo. When it’s positioned normally, you can only see the upper, upside-down embroidery! When I have the hood up, it fits, but when do you put the hood on a sweater?

At least I hardly ever do. Unfortunately, I saw it too late and didn’t have enough fabric left.

My 2nd jumpsuit and having to make new experiences with embroidery

And the next jumpsuit of mine, which I finally finished today.
It had already been sewn a while ago, but I wanted to embroider it.
This was the first time I embroidered fleece and unfortunately the result is not what I had hoped for. The thick, fluffy fibers of the fleece make the embroidery look very unclear. You can’t even read the small lettering.
When the embroidery foil was still on, it looked really great, but when I took it off, it became unclear.
At least I know for the future that I can no longer use such small motifs or lettering on fabric like this

In the next photo you can see that it is double face fleece. Stripes on the outside and rockets, stars and such on the inside.

Here you can clearly see that I would have been better off making this motif larger

But since the jumpsuit is only for at home, I could live with it.
You never stop learning!

Let it snow …

Wasn’t it just the New Year’s fireworks? 😀
The first half month is already over. Somehow time is racing…

Winter has now arrived here too. Temperatures around freezing point, snow.
I may be a summer person who likes warmth, sunshine and bright colors, but new snow is also visually fascinating to me.

The roads no longer look pretty with the snow, but the bushes were still untouched and beautiful ❤

Tomorrow my favorite sewing course starts again this year.
I hope my last project will be finished by then.
I think everyone who sews something elaborate that takes so long gets to the point where they can’t see the project anymore. I already reached that point last year 😀

The weather can’t decide

Okay, according to the calendar, it’s winter. But while walking in the park at the weekend I already found the first flowers.

It was so cold outside!

Especially because I had forgotten my gloves at home and was wearing the wrong shoes. I should have looked at the thermometer before I went out, but the whole week before it was so warm outside that I didn’t even think about it.

I am actually too old for such stupid mistakes 😀

As someone with many plant allergies and asthma, I cannot have flowers or plants at home.
But when I find them in nature, I can enjoy them and find them beautiful.

I’m always so happy when I discover the first flowers. There are not many yet, but still a sign that it may not be long before spring comes.

Here the ONLY bush in the whole park that already had blossoms.

A few more hours or maybe days with sunshine and the daffodils are in full bloom

Here you can see how cold it was that weekend. Behind the ducks you can see that there is a layer of ice on the water.

Hoarfrost photos

Today I was at my best friend’s and my godchild’s to give them my Christmas presents. And of course to also get presents hihi
They live a few miles from me.
When I arrived at their place I saw that there was hoar frost everywhere on the trees and plants.

Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me but only my mobile phone to take photos. When I was back home I had hoped that I had hoarfrost too, so I could take better photos, but there was nothing there. Too bad.

There you can see what a few miles for a difference make. The air at the house of my friend is more humid because of the stream nearby, her house is a little more open with more wind. My house is in the middle of the city.

On the photos you can see what cold, humid air and wind create for works of art. It looks like every plant suddenly got needles.

Even cobwebs suddenly look like works of art

I would go there again to take real photos, but I saw in the garden after a few hours that the hoarfrost has changed, that the beautiful shape got lost.

I woke up this morning and it was all white outside. Snow everywhere!!

All I had to do was to find my woolly hat and gloves (it happens to me every year. One is surprised by the cold season hihi)

I took my camera and made photos.

Little icicles on my window (photos)

OK, winter and it’s cold temperature isnt really my favorite season hehehe

But a few things I like about winter 🙂 Christmas, the feeling when coming from the cold outside into your warm home, snow, hot tea with lemon or hot chocolate

When I woke up we had freezing 25 °F and I found icicles on my window. Only small ones about 1 inch, but I couldnt resist to make photos with my macro.

When checking this photos on my computer some icicles looks like they have a plant on it. Amazing. Havent seen this before. Maybe wind did this art with water drops. I dont know
